WHO WE ARE
OUR WHY

We have watched patients in their most fragile and emotionally vulnerable state feel overwhelmed in making health care decisions. People who are at greater risk are the elderly and people of color. Patients making last-minute decisions can be life-changing or lead to death. This is where VNA can help patients and families navigate through the information to give peace of mind. This is my nursing ministry to the world.

The global pandemic paired with shifts in public healthcare widened the reach between patient and care, especially within the vulnerable demographics amongst the elderly and people of color.

Through advocacy, VNA works to deliver patients result-driven experiences backed with knowledge and compassion. We believe everyone deserves advocacy.

“Advocacy is empathy, compassion and community at work.”
- Janna Cachola

During my 19 years of nursing experience, I have noticed a major gap in patient knowledge of their disease process or crisis. Patients are sometimes overwhelmed when they are receiving medical information. Most people function at a 6th-grade level of understanding. I have watched people of color struggle with how to ask and express health concerns or ignore signs and symptoms of conditions. The older patient populations are at greater risk for living alone and navigating medications and treatment plans.

VNA is the only nursing service to provide a virtual care service in which the patient is hired. VNA is not advocating for hospitals to save money in treating your illness. We do not advocate for hospitals' or doctors' best interests.

We advocate solely for the patient by whom we are hired.
